Meadows Women's Sober Living Home Austin
Recovery as a woman can feel isolating. The pressures, the history, the particular ways that addiction takes hold are real, and they deserve a real response. ACTS Meadows Women’s Sober Living Home is a safe, structured, women-only community built specifically to support women in recovery in Austin TX. Call us anytime at (512) 399-6264, or apply online. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We’ve operated in Austin TX since 2007, and over the years we’ve learned a great deal about what women in recovery need. What we know for certain is this: the right environment, surrounded by the right community, changes everything.

About the Meadows Women's Home
The Meadows Women’s Sober Living home is the only dedicated women’s location in the ACTS Recovery Homes network. It’s in a well-established Austin TX neighborhood, close to our Meadows Men’s Sober Living home, and operates as a fully independent women’s-only community. The proximity to the men’s home creates a broader ACTS recovery network in the area, but the Women’s home is its own environment with its own community.
It’s a furnished, welcoming house with private rooms, shared kitchen and dining space, laundry on site, and Wi-Fi throughout. It’s clean, well-maintained, and run to a standard that reflects how seriously we take this work. You deserve a home that reflects that too.
Recovery as a woman is different from recovery as a man. The history is different. The pressures are different. The particular things that women carry into sobriety, and through it, are different. A women’s-only home means those things don’t need to be explained or qualified. Conversations happen at a different depth. Support looks different. The accountability that builds between women who are doing the same work in the same space is one of the most powerful things we’ve seen in nearly two decades of running this home.
The Austin TX recovery community in this area is active and welcoming. Most new residents connect with a home group and a sponsor within the first two weeks. The sponsor relationships and home group friendships built through Austin’s women’s AA and NA community are among the most lasting things a resident takes with her when she leaves.
House Program and Expectations
Every resident at the Meadows Women’s home commits to the same expectations as every ACTS home. These are clear, consistent, and non-negotiable:
- All residents must be working or actively searching for work
- Regular AA or NA meeting attendance is required from day one
- An active sponsor relationship and real step work are required
- Random drug and alcohol screenings apply to every resident
- Curfew is in effect every night
- Everyone shares in caring for the household
The accountability here works both ways. You hold your housemates to it, and they hold you. The women who lean into these expectations consistently find that the structure becomes a foundation rather than a restriction. That shift, from resistance to ownership, is one of the signs that recovery is taking hold.
Employment is a core requirement. Working or actively searching for work isn’t just a program rule. It’s one of the most practical supports for long-term sobriety. Financial stability, daily structure, and the discipline of showing up somewhere every day are all part of what early recovery needs to sustain itself. The Meadows Women’s home’s location in Austin TX gives residents realistic access to employment across a wide range of industries.
The 12-Step Foundation
The 12-Step program is the foundation of daily life at the Meadows Women’s home. Meeting attendance, getting a sponsor, and working the steps are required. These aren’t optional add-ons. They’re the structure of recovery. Read our full program before you call so you know what daily life looks like here.
Austin TX has a strong women’s AA and NA community. Most residents find a home group within the first two weeks. The women’s-only meetings in Austin TX create a space where the particular experience of women in recovery can be spoken plainly, and the connections made there often outlast a resident’s time at the home.
Step work is where the personal change happens. Sitting with a sponsor and honestly working through each step, making the inventory, doing the amends, building a daily practice, is what transforms sobriety from something you’re maintaining into something you’re living. The Meadows Women’s home has been supporting that process in Austin TX since 2007.
A Women's Community
There’s something specific about recovering in a house full of women who get it. The hard mornings are shared. The wins are celebrated by people who know what they cost. The particular shame and history that women often carry into recovery don’t need to be explained because everyone in the house has carried something similar.
That’s the Meadows Women’s home. It’s not just a place to live through early sobriety. It’s a community of women who are doing the daily work of building a life that sobriety makes possible. Some of the most lasting friendships our residents make, they make in this house.
